I don't know if I'll make this a regular thing (which would be nice, because it would imply that I feel inspired) but here are some memorable things about today:
I got up early(ish) and walked to the canal. On the way there it seemed as though everyone else was still asleep, the roads were almost empty and it was very calm and peaceful, and a little chilly still. I should make a habit out of getting up early, and leaving the house early, on the weekends.
Since I always get hungry between breakfast and lunch I looked into homemade granola bar recipes. I didn't have the right ingredients today but I will experiment with this next weekend.
I bought a pair of very cute fairy lights and I put them around my window. It's incredible what kind of a difference it makes, especially with a room like mine where I've got a minimum amount of things to work with. It makes my room feel bigger and cozy factor is obviously enhanced by a lot. Got scented candles as well, which I have been getting into a lot lately!
Last but not least, I watched a speech by James Aspey, who is an Australian animals rights activist, and obviously he is vegan as well. Watching these people talk about the reasons we should be vegan reinforces my decision not to eat meat, but they also strongly advocate veganism, which, for me, is something I am not quite ready to commit to just yet. What I liked about James is that he focuses a lot on helping people, and helping non-vegans as well. Also that he gives practical advice on how to argue as a vegan. There is always an argument for veganism. Watch his speech here.
Going to bed at 11:15 is so wonderful.
