Joining in on the reunion trend , The Movielife have released 'Mercy Is Asleep At The Wheel' ahead of their album ‘Cities In Search Of A Heart’ due September 22nd via Rise Records.
On one hand the track shows that 14 years have passed since their last release in 2003. As much as I hate the word 'mature', Vinnie Capuana's vocals now sound less like on pop-punk anthems like 'Hey' or the angsty 'Scary' but more like a well rehearsed rock front man. But on the other hand their sound rather reminds me of 2000s Diffuser, throwing it back into an unexpected moment in pop-punk rather than portraying a continuation of 'Forty Hour Train Back to Penn'.
Some people got to see them perform earlier this year at Slam Dunk though I don't have any information on their setlist - I'm curious on how the rest of their album is going to sound and there's word of a full tour according to Alt Press.
