Interview With Weatherstate

October 1, 2017

When it was still sort of warm a few weeks ago, I hung out with Harry and Callan from Weatherstate ahead of their gig with Muskets, Rain and Lightcliffe at The Sebright Arms.

After releasing 'Dumbstruck' and the single 'Sympathy' earlier this year via Failure By Design Records the guys revealed that they are working on their first full length album expected to be released next year - exciting! Nothing is written in stone as of yet though as the guys are still writing and developing ideas to ensure the record is as strong as it can be. Next to working on their debut LP, Weatherstate are going on a Germany tour this month - hilarious to me because I'm German - with WSTR and Storyteller. Sensible as they are, the guys have already adopted their role as tour dads to keep things from getting too outrageous on the Hamburg Reeperbahn (red light district), where the venue is. (I'll be in Hamburg three days after the show so will just miss it - boo). Weatherstate will then hit the UK clubs in November along with The Winter Passing and itoldyouiwouldeatyou.

Other than absolutely smashing it on tour and elsewhere we talked about the guys' love for Green Day, their acoustic cover of 'The Hell Song' with Trash Boat that Harry wished never made it to the surface of the earth and how Callan is dreaming of a Weatherstate customized WWE Wrestling belt. Also look out for two special cameos by a kid poppin' sick wheelies and a sausage doggo ❤️

Very stoked about this debut album that's in the working - but be sure to catch them on the road before the end of the year!

Big old shoutout to these dudes for being chill and overall just solid ✊
