If there was one UK band who really shook things up last year, I'd have to say it was Vukovi 🏴 The Scottish fourpiece really changed gears and turned heads in 2017, starting with the release of their self-titled debut album in early spring. Since then they have dominated the scene with live show galore, headlining tours as well as supporting PVRIS on their European Tour, releasing several music videos and playing the biggest festivals in the UK including Reading & Leeds 🤘
I caught up with them before just another highlight of their never ending rainbow of a career, namely playing The Kerrang! Tour along with The Amity Affliction and Boston Manor.
I especially love how authentic and unapologetic they are, which this interview will give you a great impression of, but also the band are some of the kindest and most welcoming people I have come across in the scene. They let us interrupt their pre-show dressing room party as they were getting ready to play, offered us drinks and really took time to get to know us 🙏
Janine, Hamish and I talk about the mental processing of the previous year, singing without a Scottish accent, favorite Scottish bands (more than one surprises for me in that I didn't know one of the biggest rock bands in the world is from Vukovi's home turf!) + Janine recounts their traumatic experience of being stuck on an icy mountain in the middle of nowhere - shoutout Pat & Paddy 👯♂️
All of this, my friends, happened while I was lovingly embraced by a magical customized Vukovi shell suit that you can pick up right here!
My favorite quote from the interview: 'I'm taking this seriously but I also...' '...here for a good time.' '...like glitter'.
